Mini Biography

Milt was born in Argentina in 1922 of Russian parents and emigrated to the United States at the age of 8 months. He spent his early years through high school in Jersey City, N.Y.

A graduate of New York University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Milt is a licensed professional engineer, land surveyor and professional planner. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945 as a Flight Engineer on a PBY aircraft in the 4th Emergency Rescue Squadron, which landed on water to rescue survivors of torpedo, attacks as well as crashed and ditched aircraft. He was the treasurer of his squadron’s annual reunions, which continued after the war for almost 25 years.

Milt was one of the founders of Temple Beth Sholom in Fair Lawn, N.J. and served as president. He was Township Engineer and Head of Public Works in Teaneck, N.J. for 26 years. During retirement in Delray Beach, Fl., he served on the Board of Directors in his community for 2 years during which time he consulted and supervised various subcontractors during construction and refurbishing of its clubhouse.

Married for almost 62 years to the former Selma Seger, Milt is the proud father of Ellen (Jeff) and Andy (Wendy), grandfather to Adam, Daniel and Will, step-grandfather to Sabrina and Makayla, step-grandfather to Hannie. His hobbies include poker, chess and scrabble.

Friends of Milt consider him to be honest, sincere, kind, gentle, patient and considerate.
