John Ree

John Ree (Lt.Col. USAF Ret.):

Mini Biography

John Ree served 29 years in the US Air Force as pilot and engineer. He saw combat during WWII in the Pacific, on Saipan and the battle of Iwo Jima as an air-sea rescue pilot in the 4th Emergency Rescue Squadron, and retired as Lt. Colonel. He is currently active as state vice president for the Air Force Association in Virginia.

John is a mechanical engineer by profession, spending most of his career in the printing and publishing field. He has been principal engineer on a number of very large projects involving the design, construction and start-up of manufacturing plants in the US and abroad. He has held positions as senior designer, project engineer, chief engineer, vice president – engineering and vice president – plant manager.

John graduated from Stevens Tech with a degree in Engineering and attended Penn State, Cooper Union and Rutgers. He has lived in Virginia since 1982. He has two daughters and two grandchildren.
